What it does
Shake to summon
Start dragging in Finder or any other app, give the pointer a quick shake, and the tray appears right beside it.
Collect, then carry
Drop as many files, folders and images as you like. Drag them all out at once, or open the tray and pick just the ones you need.
Shows up after screenshots
Optionally show the tray for a few seconds after every screenshot — from macOS, Tempo or other apps like CleanShot or Shottr.
AirDrop and shortcut
Send the tray's contents with AirDrop, or open an empty tray with an optional keyboard shortcut.
Nothing is moved or kept
MiniTray only holds references in memory. Closing the tray never moves or deletes your files — Finder does the moving when you drop them.
Lives in the menu bar
No Dock icon, no windows to manage. Just the tray, when you need it.
Permissions
macOS asks for Input Monitoring permission so MiniTray can notice the shake gesture while you drag. It only watches mouse movement during a drag and never reads your keyboard.
Privacy
MiniTray keeps nothing: tray contents live in memory and disappear when you close the tray or quit the app. Privacy Policy →
Questions
Does MiniTray copy my files?
No. It remembers where they are. When you drop them somewhere, Finder copies or moves them as usual.
Which screenshot apps does it detect?
Screenshots from macOS, Tempo and apps that save them with a screenshot name or in the macOS screenshots folder, such as CleanShot, Shottr or Snagit.
All four apps
